British Columbian's are losing control of their water and water powered electric energy system, quickly and quietly.  BC HYdro the primary electric energy system owned exclusively by the people of British Columbia and hundreds of energy capable rivers are being taken by the what are rumoured to be the worlds most notorious and immoral corporations.  Bechtel Corporation (see the movie 'Thirst') has arrived in BC to help Alcan (Rio Tinto and ABB) end the resisitance off the people of Kitimat who have fought for years to save their jobs and town by preventing the loss of their Nechako River to a de-industrializing power sale contract. GE Capital and Brascan (Brookfield) are here inside the masked scheme of private water power (licenses) on over 500 BC creeks and rivers. Accenture Consulting of Bermuda, rumoured to be disgraced Enron and Aurthur Anderson executives) runs BC Hydro masked and protected by provincial laws of confidentiality, and is the well placed Trojan horse in the silent attack, now in its sixth year against electric public energy assets owned by the people of BC.  BC Hydro (pre-2002) is the last wholly owned vertically integrated public electric utility in North America which means it is protected from NAFTA by its own rules. The Enron profile was to have public utilities separate their own transmission systems into parallel public ownership to allow a private entity to trade the public power to the exclusion of the public benefit.  BC Transmssion Corporation was established two years ago and has agreements to enter a US hub and respect US Enrgy Security Lawa. In other words the satge is being set.

When private policy developed by right wing think tanks becomes public policy and is championed by a majority governmnt as is the case in British Columbia run-away corporatism accummulates public wealth. The author and educator Noam Chomsky suggests capitalism has conquered all other 'isms' and has no competition. Only informed consumers can pose any counterbalance. The dangers of majority parliamentary government are well known.. Here in the Wild West Premier Gordon Campbell facilitates the change from public to private at a rate unseen or unimagined. No matter the sector, health, transportation, mining, forestry it is changing but in electric energy there is much denial. Claims of maintaining public control of BC Hydro are misleading when the opposite is true. The Premier's provincial government made a law in 2002 to cover the insertion of Accenture Consulting of Bermuda into the control positions at BC Hydro and then last year another anti public law eliminated local knowledge either from people or community governments by removing zoning authority throughout the province on any private river power project. Hundreds of rivers are involved.
